On 8 August 2025, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the ASEAN Day Celebration 2025 at the Beijing International Club at the invitation of Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul of Thailand, Chair of the ASEAN Beijing Committee (ACB). Ambassador Pehin Dato Rahmani of Brunei, Ambassador Soeung Rathchavy of Cambodia, Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune of the Lao PDR, Ambassador U Tin Maung Swe of Myanmar, Ambassador Jaime A. FlorCruz of the Philippines, Ambassador Peter Tan of Singapore, and Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh of Viet Nam were present to celebrate the 58th founding anniversary of ASEAN.
In his remarks, Ambassador Chatchai highlighted ASEAN’s remarkable achievements over nearly six decades and praised the current momentum of ASEAN-China relations. He emphasized that China remains an essential dialogue partner for ASEAN and reaffirmed the commitment of ASEAN to working hand-in-hand with China to build an even more resilient and comprehensive partnership.
During the event, SG Shi also attended the Book Donation Ceremony to Lifetree Library of ASEAN.
