On 8 August 2025, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) was invited to attend ASEAN Day 2025 event in Guangzhou hosted by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou. The Event included ASEAN Open House which showcased distinctive cultures of ASEAN Member States (AMS) and ASEAN-China Seminar on Tourism Cooperation themed on “Best practices and Recommendations Sharing Towards Elevated Tourism Experiences”. The Seminar gathered representatives from government agencies, associations in tourism industry, private entities and media from AMS and China, to share best practices and gather recommendations for future ASEAN-China tourism cooperation.

Mr. Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, Consulate-General of Thailand in Guangzhou, addressed at the Seminar. He emphasized the outstanding role of tourism in ASEAN-China relations to enhance economic growth and people-to-people exchanges. He expected that the seminar could highlight innovative approaches and actionable strategies that will strengthen sustainable and high-quality tourism cooperation between AMS and China.
At the Seminar, Deputy Director Liu Xiao of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division spoke on behalf of the ACC and presented its ongoing and future programs aimed at enhancing regional destination marketing, capacity building and cross-border travel facilitation, reaffirming the ACC’s role as a key partner and the great efforts paid by the ACC in ASEAN-China tourism development.
