On 6 August 2025, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the 47th ASEAN Plus Three National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) and related meetings in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, Philippines. The meetings gathered officials from ASEAN Member States (AMS), the observer Timor-Leste, China, Japan, and Republic of Korea (ROK) to strengthen regional cooperation and advance recovery and growth in the tourism sector.
At the meetings, Director Hadi Tjahjono of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division spoke on behalf of the ACC and presented its ongoing and future programs aimed at enhancing regional destination marketing, capacity building and cross-border travel facilitation. He reaffirmed the ACC’s role as a key partner in ASEAN’s tourism development and emphasized its efforts and commitment to deepening collaboration in sustainable and digital tourism, rural development and people-to-people exchanges with AMS. The delegates appreciated the ACC’s endeavors and unwavering commitment to strengthening tourism cooperation.
Delegates also reviewed ASEAN Plus Three cooperation on tourism, updated national tourism development, introduced latest policies and future plans. Collective efforts were made to work out the ASEAN Tourism Sectoral Plan Post-2025 to advance tourism industries and further enhance ASEAN Plus Three tourism cooperation.
