ACC Hosts the ASEAN-China Training Program on Trade

On 2-3 June 2025, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), in collaboration with China International Youth Exchange Centre and China Customs Brokers Association, hosted the 2025 ASEAN-China Cross-Border Trade and E-Commerce Training Program. The training program attracted over 30 representatives of business associations, young entrepreneur associations, and diplomatic missions of ASEAN Member States (AMS).

At the opening ceremony, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ACC highlighted that in recent years, the ASEAN-China economic and trade cooperation has been continuously upgraded and achieved fruitful results. The ACC, as a bridge for communication and cooperation between ASEAN and China, has always been committed to deepening economic and trade exchanges between the two sides. Through this training program, the ACC is willing to work together with all parties to further deepen policy communication and capacity-building between ASEAN and China, ensuring trade compliance, smooth connectivity, and pragmatic cooperation between enterprises from both sides.

Deputy Chief Li Tianguo of China International Youth Exchange Centre and Secretary-General Zhang Peng of China Customs Brokers Association also attended and addressed the opening ceremony. 

Deputy Chief Li Tianguo stated that not only does the training program on ASEAN-China cross-border trade and e-commerce cooperation serve as an opportunity to explore collaborative prospects through project exchanges and experience sharing, but can also be considered an innovative step to enhance cooperation efficiency and foster a favorable environment through policy interpretation and rule clarification.

Secretary-General Zhang Peng noted that the training program is packed with intensive briefings and targeted mentoring by well-known scholars and industrial experts. He hoped that the program will help AMS participants better tap into China’s market and explore new opportunities in such fields as e-commerce and circular economy under the framework of ACFTA 3.0.

The training program includes courses on investment environment and market analysis in China, policy requirements and access procedures for China's imports of agricultural product, the role of e-commerce platform in cross-border trade, and trade compliance and legal risk management. Experts from universities, think tanks, and enterprises are invited to deliver lectures and interact with the AMS participants. The participants also visited Beijing Daxing International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area Port to gain first-hand experience on cross-border trade.
