On 5 August 2022, the Photo Exhibition of Indonesia-China Ecological Conservation Achievements was successfully held on the sidelines of the 2022 ASEAN-China Media Cooperation Forum. The exhibition was co-hosted by China International Communications Group (CICG), Indonesian Embassy in China, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), and Qinghai Provincial Information Office. Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, Mr. Liu Dawei, Vice President of CICG, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ACC, and Mr. Song Jiangtao, Deputy Head of Publicity Department of CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Director General of Qinghai Provincial Information Office, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Mr. Arianto Surojo, Director of the Information and Public Relations Division (IPRD) of ACC, presided over the ceremony. 

Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun mentioned in his online speech that the photo exhibition aims to highlight the public awareness of protecting the ecological system to promote sustainable development. The phenomenal pictures show Indonesia’s rich biodiversity and beautiful panorama. Maintaining biodiversity is critical to sustainable development and human well-being.

Vice President Liu Dawei pointed out that the photo exhibition focuses on the achievements of ecological protection of the Three-River-Source in Qinghai and the coral reefs in Indonesia. It is aimed at promoting further exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN in environmental protection, ecotourism, green and sustainable development and other fields.

Secretary-General Chen Dehai expressed the hope that the photo exhibition would further pool the strength of governments, enterprises, media, think tanks and the public, in order to promote new progress in Indonesia and China’s ecological protection. ACC is willing to make greater contributions to ASEAN and China’s endeavour of building a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful and amicable home together.

Deputy Head Song Jiangtao said that it is timely for Qinghai Province to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia and promote green development projects. Although separated by thousands of miles, Qinghai and Indonesia have taken many similar measures in ecological protection. The photo exhibition makes a difference in cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

Mrs. Zin Mar Htwe, DCM and Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Myanmar in China, Mrs. Natthira Krasaesarn, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Thailand in China, diplomatic envoys from Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Viet Nam and other ASEAN Member States (AMS) to China, as well as representatives of ASEAN and Chinese media visited the photo exhibition.
