In 2025, Viet Nam aims to gain a GDP growth of at least 8%, on the basis of maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major economic balances, harmonizing economic development and social and environmental protection, ensuring national defense and security. The GDP scale is expected to reach over 500 billion USD, GDP per capita is targeted to reach over 5,000 USD. Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) growth rate is set to reach about 4.5-5%.
In the period of 2026-2030, Viet Nam strives for reaching double-digit growth, successfully achieving strategic goals by 2030, becoming a developing country with modern industry and an upper-middle-income level. By 2045, Viet Nam’s goal is to become a developed country with high income status. Viet Nam will focus on thoroughly resolving obtacles for development; adjust the economic space and expand the development space; strengthening decentralization and the delegation of power in State management; allocation and combination of economic resources; establishing a new growth model with science and technology innovation and digital transformation as the main driving force to create strong increase in productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy; identify the private economy as the most important driving force of the national economy. It also will continue to make breakthroughs to create new productivity and new productive forces; focus on implementing sucessfully the policies of social justice, social progress, social security, social welfare and policies for persons with meritorious service; implement the policy of exempting tuition fees for all levels of general education; complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide; promote the construction of social housing for low-income people; focus on developing healthcare, taking care of people's health, and moving towards exempting hospital fees for the people.
