Within the framework of the “ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges”, and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organized a delegation of Chinese tourism media influencers to Malaysia from 15 to 21 September 2025 for exchanges and dialogues on cultural and tourism resources between China and Malaysia. This initiative serves as one of the ACC’s flagship projects to promote ASEAN tourism destinations, deepen tourism cooperation and enhance people-to-people exchanges.
During the visit, the delegation of a journalist from China Tourism News and online travel influencers, toured Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi. They stayed in local Airbnb homestays to experience sustainable tourism, visited iconic landmarks, explored local culture and daily life, and engaged in immersive activities highlighting sustainable tourism practices.
On the morning of 17 September in Kuala Lumpur, the delegation paid a courtesy call to Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board. Deputy Director General Lee Thai Hung noted that China remains Malaysia’s largest source market. With abundant flight connections, convenient transport, diverse dining options and strong Chinese-language services, Malaysia is well-prepared for Chinese visitors. He emphasized that this exchange plays a positive role in strengthening people-to-people bonds and mutual understanding. With the implementation of the mutual visa exemption policy, Malaysia is confident of attracting more Chinese tourists and continuously advancing bilateral tourism cooperation and sustainable tourism development.
