On 25 August 2025, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Vice President Win Si Thu of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Yangon.
Shi Zhongjun highlighted the ACC’s efforts in promoting ASEAN-China practical cooperation, particularly in supporting SMEs and agricultural development, as well as major projects to be implemented in the second half of the year. He stressed that the ACC is committed to further deepening agricultural cooperation between Myanmar and China, aiming to facilitate more Myanmar agricultural exports to China through capacity training and material assistance.
Win Si Thu stressed that the president of UMFCCI attaches great importance of strengthening Myanmar-China agricultural cooperation, especially in advanced technology training. Expressing gratitude for the ACC’s fruitful work, Win Si Thu hoped the ACC would promote more collaboration between Myanmar and China in areas like corn breeding improvement, farm irrigation systems and agricultural vocational education to help Myanmar develop its agriculture sector and improve people’s livelihoods.
