On 19 April 2025, Ambassador Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with H.E. Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi to ASEAN, in Jakarta. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and China.
They agreed to make full use of resources and network of the ACC, in accordance with the actual needs of ASEAN Member States to deliver pragmatic cooperation between ASEAN countries and China in areas such as agriculture, vocational education, tourism, poverty alleviation, and disaster relief under the framework of the 2025 ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges.
They believe these cooperations will deepen mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of both sides and contribute to the building of a closer ASEAN-China community with a shared future.
