On 21 April 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Ambassador Wang Wentian in Phnom Penh at the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Secretary General Shi Zhongjun said that the post-pandemic era brings forth greater opportunities for further growth of ASEAN-China relations. The ACC, as the only intergovernmental organization established by ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China, has been and is playing an increasingly important role in promoting friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between AMS and China. The ACC stands ready to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia towards injecting more vitality into all-round and in-depth development of ASEAN-China friendly relations and practical cooperation.
Ambassador Wang Wentian welcomed SG Shi’s visit to Cambodia. He expressed that the Embassy stands ready to work with the ACC to better identify the needs of all parties and fully release the potential for cooperation, in a bid to jointly foster the building of China-Cambodia community with a shared future and the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.
