ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai Attended the Joint Opening Ceremony of “Chinese + Vocational Skills” Training for Local Teachers in Indonesia

On the afternoon of 14 March 2022, the Joint Opening Ceremony of “Chinese + Vocational Skills” Training for Local Teachers in Indonesia was successfully held. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Mr. Dino R. Kusnadi, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Indonesia in China, Dr. Wikan Sakarinto, Director General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of Indonesia, Dr. Margana M. Hum, Vice Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta of Indonesia, Dr. Ma Jianfei, Director-General of the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China, and Dr. Xie Yonghua, President of Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology (NJUIT), attended and addressed the opening ceremony. 

Mr. Dino R. Kusnadi stated that China is a close and friendly neighbour of Indonesia and the two countries have a long history of friendly exchanges. Recent years have witnessed the all-round development of the bilateral cooperation in various fields such as economy, education and talent cultivation. The Indonesian Embassy in China is willing to continuously promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples and make greater contributions to regional peace and stability. 

Dr. Wikan Sakarinto appreciated the cooperation among the Embassy of Indonesia in China, ACC and CLEC, pointing out that the training is of great significance to improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia. He hoped that the trainees could exchange ideas and share experiences with Chinese experts and deepen their understanding towards the current situation and future trends of relevant industries.

Mr. Chen Dehai stated that both Indonesia and China are representatives of emerging economies with broad common interests and huge development potential. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 “Chinese + Vocational Skills” Training for Local Teachers in Indonesia, covering majors of Electronic Commerce, Computer Technology and Logistics Management, is conducive to adapting to the new normal and speeding up the cultivation of interdisciplinary technical talents. ACC is willing to work with relevant parties to continuously promote exchanges and collaboration in vocational education between Indonesia and China and make unremitting efforts to boost both sides’ economic and social development and people-to-people exchanges.  

Dr. Ma Jianfei said with the entry-into-force of RCEP, AMS and China have ushered in a new period of comprehensive and deepened cooperation. CLEC is willing to facilitate the exchanges and collaboration in the field of language and vocational education in both countries by adhering to the idea of integrated development and practical application of Chinese language and vocational education.

This training is co-hosted by the Embassy of Indonesia in China, ACC and CLEC and organised by NJUIT. A total of 884 Indonesian teachers of Electronic Commerce, Logistics Management and Computer Network Technology will participate in this 9-day training, which covers an overview of vocational education in China, enterprise development and demands, “Chinese + vocational” skills and Chinese cultural experience.
