ACC Representatives Attended the Forum on Yunnan-South Asia & Southeast Asia Tourism Vocational Education and Personnel Training Exchange and Cooperation (2019-06-11)

With the theme of “Tourism Human Resource Management and Cross Border Tourism Development”, the Forum on Yunnan-South Asia & Southeast Asia Tourism Vocational Education and Personnel Training Exchange and Cooperation was held in Kunming, Yunnan on 11 June 2019. H.E. Dr. THONG Khon, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Ounethouang Khaophanh, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Lao PDR, Mr. Zheng Yi, Deputy Director-General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Fu Runmin, President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and Mr. Zhang Jinglong, President of Yunnan College of Tourism Vocation attended the event. Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the Forum and delivered remarks.

As one of the sub-forums of the 2nd Yunnan-South Asia & Southeast Asia Education Exchange and Cooperation Forum, the Forum was hosted by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, organized by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by Yunnan College of Tourism Vocation and supported by ACC. More than 150 representatives of government departments, international organizations, tourism organizations, enterprises and educational institutions from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Sri Lanka and the United States gathered together to discuss on the status quo of the regional tourism industry and the development trend in tourism vocational education. They exchanged views on education in tourism and hotel management, cross-border tourism development, international cooperation in tourism education and other topics of common interest.
