On 26-27 December 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping visited Dongying Guangrao and Zibo. She observed the operation of local enterprises and factories including Shandong Wanda BOTO Tyre Co. Ltd, Shengli Xinda Industry Group, Shandong JuXin Photoelectric Technology Co. Ltd, Shandong Dahai New Energy Co. Ltd, Shandong Jinyu Co. Ltd, etc, and exchanged views with the entrepreneurs on the enterprises’ development and their cooperation with ASEAN countries. Mr. Chen Guangfeng, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Dongying, Ms. Chen Yuan, Deputy Head of Guangrao County, Mr. Zhang Xuehai, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Division of ACC and other officials joined the visit.

The management of Shandong Wanda BOTO Tyre Co. Ltd. introduced that the products of Wanda BOTO were exported to 132 countries or regions throughout the world. The products gain popularity in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, etc. The company ranked 35 in the top 75 rubber companies in the world, and is aiming to build factories in ASEAN countries. He hoped the governments of China and ASEAN could further optimize trade policies to inject impetus to the enterprises of both sides. The management of Shandong Jinyu Co. Ltd said that the company has close contact with ASEAN countries. Its trade volume with ASEAN has kept rising in recent years. It is encouraging to see that the company’s factory in Viet Nam has provided the local people with abundant job opportunities and achieved fruitful results. The other companies also introduced their operation and development plan for the future. They all hoped to enhance cooperation with ASEAN countries under the guidance and support of ACC.

SG Yang Xiuping said that enterprises are the main bodies of ASEAN-China economic cooperation. It is one of ACC’s priorities to help the enterprises of both sides to match and build up cooperation platforms. Dongying has advantages in the industries such as rubber and new energy, which are complementary with ASEAN countries and has great potential for cooperation. It is recommended that Dongying enterprises seek right ASEAN counterparts, learn about each other’s advantages and demand, and strive for a win-win result. ACC will continue to build bridges for both sides according to the needs of the enterprises.
