The 9th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum was convened in Nanning on 15 September 2014. The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Culture of China, local government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and supported by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Madame Li Kang, Vice-Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Liu Yuzhu, Assistant Minister of Culture, Mr. Sam Tan, Minister of State of Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth, Mr. Ma Mingqiang, Secretary-General of ACC and delegates from ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Foundation and Chinese cultural official, attended the Forum.
As an important mechanism and platform of cooperation and dialogue in the field of culture between ASEAN and China, China-ASEAN Cultural Forum has been successfully held for eight consecutive sessions since its establishment in 2006. Themes of Forum covered the development of cultural industry, libraries, protection of intangible cultural heritage etc. This year, the Forum focused on the management and practice of the international arts festival. ACC, as the supporter of the Forum, networked and exchanged views with ASEAN cultural officials and experts on how to further ASEAN-China cooperation in cultural area.
