ACC attended the 9th?China (Shangdong) International Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exposition

At the invitation of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shandong Sub-council, Shandong Economic and Information Technology Committee and Shandong Machinery Industry Association, ACC attended the 9th China (Shangdong) International Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exposition in Jinan, Shandong Province on 18 March 2014. Commercial Counselors and economic officers from the Embassies of Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam also attended the Expo.

The Silk Road Economic Belt High Level Business Dialogue was held alongside the Expo, aiming at enhancing cooperation and exchange between ASEAN and China.  Mr. Mouavixay Palee, Deputy Director of Trade and Investment Division of ACC, delivered a keynote speech at the Dialogue. In his speech, Mr. Palee extended ACC Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang’s congratulations on the founding of the Shandong-ASEAN Project Cooperation Office, which was launched during the Expo. He hoped that the newly-founded Office will serve as a new bridge to effectively facilitate and cement the cooperation between Shandong Province and ASEAN countries in trade and investment. He further pledged that, as a promoter and facilitator of ASEAN-China good-neighborly relationship, ACC will spare no efforts in conjunction with all stakeholders to promote economic and trade relations between Shandong Province and ASEAN countries. 

Mr. Xu Tong, Trade and Investment Officer of ACC, briefed the Meeting on ACC's activities in promoting trade and investment in 2013, particularly the efforts to enhance public awareness of ACFTA in China. ACC’s presentation was well received by audience from different sectors, and a number of City Councils for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) expressed their willingness to further cooperate with ACC during the Dialogue. 

ASEAN commercial counselors made their presentations on the investment environment of their own countries respectively and also visited the 9th China (Shandong) International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition.
