On 1 November 2012, Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang led the delegation of ASEAN Countries' Embassies in China to Yiwu to attend the 5th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair.
As a national forest industry fair co-hosted by the State Forestry Administration and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair has become an important platform for economic cooperation in forest industry in the Asia Pacific, which draws together famous Chinese forestry companies and exhibits the latest achievements of China's forest industry. It serves as an important platform of trade, cooperation and information for ASEAN forest products' access to the Chinese market and the diversification of channels for commodity circulation.
Indonesian Ambassador to China Imron Cotan, Executive Deputy Director Liu Ping of the Office of Origin Administration of the Department of Duty Collection of the General Administration of Customs of China, Deputy Director Zhang Liping of the Research Institute of Finance of the Development Research Center of the State Council as well as Commercial Counsellors from embassies of Cambodia, Indonesia, the Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and other ASEAN countries attended the opening ceremony of the Forest Products Fair.
